I really love U.S. History.

As a a lot of people have already said, I'll continue to be bland and un-original by saying that the short clips and such a quite helpful. Visual learning is key to my way of learning and I suppose it is the same with others. I enjoyed watching the reenactments of the battles instead of just reading them and trying to visualize my own version in my head.

  1. :) nice post, Brandon. I wonder though- many people did say watching something is helpful- but don't you get BORED just sitting there watching a movie? I think watching a short clip, and then TALKING about it is the more interesting part...

  2. I agree with what you said I am a visual learner and I have a hard time learning if I do not have some type of image that links what I am learning. It is very helpful to also talk about the clips because then if you are confused on something you will be able to understand it better. Also a good thing is if something can be reenacted then that is also a cool image that will help. In my World Studies class in my old school my teacher was teaching us about industrialization and how it changed different parts of the world mainly Europe. She had us draw on a piece of paper while she told us about the different things that came into place. By the end of the drawing we had a messy sheet with houses and railroads and many other things. This not only gave us a great way to interact with the info but it also helped us learn the info we needed. So videos, drawings, projects, reenactments, and so on help a lot with learning and also making class more interesting.

  4. I think it would be a good idea to incorporate Nate's idea, using the entire classroom. For example, if we divided our classroom into sections and had to draw the parts of an industrial town on the boards. It was both be really cool and fun, and educational.
